Working with Children Legislation
If you or any of your employees are involved with child related work, it is now mandatory for them to have a current Working With Children Clearance. Any new employee that is required to undertake child-related work will need to apply when they commence work.
Here are some of your responsibilities:
Notify School Bus Services immediately, if any of your employees advise you that they have had a change in their criminal record.
Keep records showing that you and all your employees in child related work have a Working with Children Clearances or have applied for one.
Check periodically that you and your employees clearances are current and have not been cancelled (you can do this by logging on the Working with Children website www.checkwwc.wa.gov.au and entering the WWC card number.
Keep a record that demonstrates your compliance with the WWC legislation.
