Welcome to Schoolbuses
Welcome to School Bus Services
Schoolbuses; One name, one number, better service everywhere!
We’re excited to announce an important update designed to make it easier, faster and simpler for schools, contractors and families to connect with us in 2026!
Families and students are our highest priority.
That’s why at Schoolbuses we have created a new Contact Centre; one number, connects you to the right support every time.
Seamless Regional Support, if your usual direct contact isn’t available, another team member within your region will be able to assist.
Our goal is to make sure we are available to families, contractors & schools when needed.
Important information to know when calling:
New phone number: 13 16 08 - one number for all regions.
Interactive IVR system to connect you with the right person. To make things even easier we have created interactive dialling guides that clearly shows what schools belong to each region so when calling through you know what numbers to press:
Can’t find your school? Select option 4 to speak to one of our customer service staff to help you.
Schoolbuses have started to receive applications for the 2026 school year. We encourage families to submit applications before 14 November 2025 in order to save a seat for 2026. Applications received after this date may be delayed, which may affect allocation onto a bus in time for the commencement of Term 1, 2026.
Note that families do not need to reapply if there are no changes to their current circumstances and they are currently receiving transport assistance by the way of bus or conveyance allowance.
Student Transport Assistance Program
The Student Transport Assistant Program provided by the Public Transport Authority (PTA) in Western Australia provides eligible students with transport assistance by way of the ‘Orange’ school bus network or, in some circumstances, a Conveyance Allowance.
Throughout regional WA, the “Orange” school bus network is vital to community health and essential for student education. Schoolbuses helps remote and regional mainstream students and students with special needs to connect to their nearest appropriate school.
To find out more about the Student Transport Assistance Program and the eligibility criteria we encourage you to review the Student Transport Assistant Policy (STAP) in the first instance.
A summary of key eligibility changes to the STAP following recommendations from a Parliamentary Public Accounts Committee's Bus Fair Report published in 2022 is available here.
Transport Assistance is provided to entitled and eligible students to assist families/carers with transport and towards school run vehicle costs travelling to and from school each school day (except for pupil free days).
You can view the Department of Education Gazetted School Days, Dates and Terms here.
Student Transport Assistance Application Processing
If you do have a question regarding the processing of your application, please refer to our FAQ sheet in the first instance.
Please allow at least 15 working days from your submission date before making contact regarding your application. Making contact prior to this or sending multiple requests, will not speed up the application process.
Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.
Please note:
- Each student is required to apply for school bus services using the online application form.
- Families with multiple students can submit one online form by selecting "add" for each student.
- If a student's school or residential address does not change, do not reapply each year.
- If a student changes schools or moves to a new residential address, a new Transport Assistance application is to be submitted for that student.
- Transport Assistance applications should be submitted no later than November for the following year and can be submitted up to 12 months in advance.
Applications can be submitted by pressing the ‘Apply Now’ button above or click here.
